Add to Calendar: Google Outlook AppleAs teachers, we are often looking for new ways to diversify and enhance our teaching strategies. In addition to clearly established expectations, challenging materials, and engaging activities, the most effective lectures or classes also bring passion, humor, fun, and a sense of community into the classroom. How do we create an environment that keeps students stimulated and craving more? How do we have more fun? Play in higher education can stimulate intrinsic motivation, create safe spaces for academic experimentation and exploration, risk-taking, and participation. In this session, you’ll hear from BMCC faculty who have incorporated fun icebreakers, engaging games, and student-centered instruction that involves students not only in the subject matter, but also with their peers and the instructor.
Organized by the Faculty Development Committee of the Academic Senate. R.S.V.P. at www.bmcc.cuny.edu/facultyday/ if you plan to attend for lunch. For more information email, BMCCFacultyDevelopmentCommittee@bmcc.cuny.edu.
