College faculty teaching both online classes and face-to-face classes face similar challenges with student attendance. This presentation will provide an overview about the literature on college student retention, identify possible signs of students at risk, discuss results of a study conducted at BMCC by the presenter, provide participants with case situations and the opportunity to discuss strategies in a small group setting, and identify resources at BMCC and outside organizations that can be used to support college students in successfully pursuing their education.
