“Students with learning disabilities such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) seem to veer towards community college more frequently than towards four-year institutions. Several services at these institutions are directed to helping such students. However, little research has linked ADHD symptoms among community college students to their use of services and subsequent academic performance and retention. The present study aims to collect data from BMCC students to fill this gap and can inform administrative and pedagogical practice to allow students with ADHD symptoms navigate the community college system. I am in the process of collecting data about Inattention/Hyperactivity symptoms and service use in BMCC students.”
