Unmute Yourself: An Exploratory Qualitative Study Examining the Virtual Internship Experiences of College Students During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Presented by La-Dana Jenkins
The purpose of this exploratory qualitative research study was to examine college students’ perceptions of and experiences in participating in a virtual internship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings produced several themes highlighting the virtual internship experiences of students, including the advantages and disadvantages, technology impact, and modality preferences. Based on the findings from this research study, recommendations were made for higher education institutions and employers when designing and implementing a virtual internship program.
