Have you or your students ever felt constrained by Blackboard? Are your Blackboard discussion forums sluggish or lacking engagement? Would you like an online space that encourages and supports creative participation by students? If so, discover and explore what the BMCC OpenLab can offer!

The OpenLab is BMCC’s virtual campus, and an alternative to Blackboard for teaching and learning. At this round table discussion, participating faculty will briefly present how they use the OpenLab in their classes. We’ll discuss why faculty and students may prefer the OpenLab and give examples of open knowledge assignments that can be done on the OpenLab. We’ll also address logistics such as transferring your course sites from Blackboard to the OpenLab, Come get ideas from your colleagues, ask questions, and share your own experiences with online learning platforms.
