Description
Are you looking for ways to encourage your students to take advantage of BMCC’s services? Let’s learn from our students. In this session, student presenters will share their experiences about getting involved with a BMCC service, program, or initiative. They will also reflect on the impact of their BMCC involvement on their overall time at BMCC. This workshop is open to all BMCC faculty and staff and is especially recommended for instructors teaching or interested in teaching FYE-enhanced courses.

The First-Year Experience (FYE) is designed to help students transition into a college-level academic learning community. In their credit-bearing, FYE-enhanced courses students develop academic identity, academic stance, and social and ethical responsibility by focusing on three learning outcomes:
  • applying learning and adaptive strategies
  • engaging as community of active learners
  • developing academic integrity and responsibility to the learning community

For more information about the FYE program at BMCC, contact Ewa Barnes or Tim Leonard.
