Description
Stop by our info sessions to learn how you can improve course outcomes by incorporating open educational practices! Analysis by the BMCC Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Analytics has shown that courses using open educational practices (OEP) have higher pass rates and lower withdrawal rates. Faculty also report improved student engagement, and also feeling more excited and energized themselves.

At our info session, you’ll find out how your colleagues are using open educational practices, and preview paid opportunities this June to incorporate OEP into your course(s), including;

  • replacing commercial textbooks with open educational resources (OER) and other no-cost materials
  • teaching in the open with an OpenLab course website
  • creating assignments in which students share their work and knowledge with a public (worldwide!) audience
  • building on blueprint courses created by colleagues with years of experience offering Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) courses.

And if you have an idea for an open education project that would benefit from funding, c’mon by to brainstorm how our Open Knowledge team can help get your idea off the ground.
