Diane Dowling (Speech, Communications and Theatre Arts)
Back to school doesn’t have to be a pain in the neck! For many of us, sitting at our desks takes up most of the workday. And if we are not at our computers, we are more than likely crammed in the subways. Look around at any subway platform and what do you see? People looking down at their phones–heads forward and shoulders hunched. Our posture, energy, and mood are affected by repeated screen and keyboard use. Sore necks and shoulders are as ubiquitous as the screens we view.
Join the CETLS Campus Culture group in welcoming Diane Dowling, who will lead the group in a series of “unwinding” exercises meant to unlock muscle tension, relieve pain, and improve your posture, mood and health. Learn ways to develop better habits when using your phone and discuss strategies for healthier computer use.
