The BMCC Library in partnership with CETLS presents – “Stand Up and Speak Out” Social Justice Series: Immigration Affairs

The presentation is a review of city resources and services available to all New Yorkers regardless of immigration status. The puts emphasis on accessibility for all members of the immigrant community as well as what is currently available to support NYers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the Presenter
Ronnie James is the central Brooklyn organizer for the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA). Ronnie and his family migrated to the United States more than 14 years ago and have since permanently settled in the City. For the past six years, Ronnie has been engaged in community organizing and activism, acting as an advocate on the Black immigrant experience. Outside of MOIA, Ronnie organizes with the UndocuBlack Network as one of its NYC Co-Chapter Leaders. There he coordinates with leaders to support the needs of the membership as well as various policy initiatives.
