Scholarship and Creative Work

Celebration of Faculty Scholarship and Creative Work

We just wrapped up an exciting month celebrating the scholarly work of BMCC faculty! Over the course of March, we heard from three faculty panels focused on producing different types of scholarship: Non-traditional Scholarship and Creative Work, Navigating the Peer Review Process, and Publishing an Academic Book. Open Knowledge Librarian Jean Amaral also led a series of workshops on topics ranging from creating a Google Scholar profile, to identifying fake journals and conferences, to using Zotero to organize your research library. The month culminated with a reception celebrating faculty who published, performed, or exhibited scholarship or creative work in 2018. Couldn’t make it to the reception? The slideshow of images from faculty work that we displayed at the reception is below and you can download the program with the full list of 2018 faculty scholarship and creative work here.

Many thanks to the CETLS Scholarship group, which organized the panel discussions; Jean Amaral, who conceived of and led the workshop series; Interim President Wilks, who was on hand to congratulate our faculty scholars; and the BMCC Library and Office of Academic Affairs, which hosted the reception.
